When it comes to building muscle, and or losing weight, there are a lot of people out there that believe that by following controversial methods they are bound to be successful, because they are doing something that not everyone does.I have compiled a diagram with the 5 most important aspects of muscle building. I call it the pentagon of muscle building(I know it’s a stupid name, but it describes what it is the best:) ).

This can be true, but do you really think that the people who are seeing results are actually doing anything different from the rest? Building muscle is not rocket science, it’s simply a matter of overloading the muscles to the point where they form microscopic tears, and grow back stronger. Do this over and over week in an week out and you will build muscle.
Muscles are not built in the gym, but in the kitchen. This is a very controversial point of view, but if you think about it carefully you will realize that it is true, muscles utilize the protein in your food to help with the recovery process, as well as the carbohydrates get converted into glycogen which are stored in the muscles as used as energy.
You don’t need only protein to build muscle. This is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. Many people will think I’m mad for saying this, but have you ever been on a low carb diet? Have you ever felt how weak and powerless it makes you feel? You can’t lift three quarters of what you could normally lift. I’m not implying that it’s stupid to follow a low carb diet, I follow one too when I want to cut down fat, but just remember that you need a balance. Low carb diets are renowned for depleted glycogen levels in the muscles. Remember our bodies differ, and finding the amount of carbs that’s right for you is crucial.
Your abs will not show by doing regular abdominal exercises. Unfortunately, contrary to popular believe, you will not have abs that show by simply doing numerous abdominal exercises every week. Did you know, that there is no such thing as spot toning? In other words, you can’t tone down your belly flab, by simply doing crunches or sit-ups. An hour of moderate intensity cardio and an hour of anaerobic toning exercise will yield about the same fat loss results, because the calories consumed is about the same.
I don’t need to follow a eating plan. This is a very stupid point of view, and I must admit that I know numerous, actually 20 or 30 people that share this view point. Not only are they stupid, but they are severely impairing their chances of reaching their bodies full potential. I have this one friend that whenever he sees me, would complain to me asking how I get results so fast, and when I mention an eating plan he has a thousand excuses as to why he can’t follow a diet, ranging from money to mommy doesn’t cook diet food. He’s an idiot, because he can see how important a diet is, but chooses to ignore this key factor.
I will build muscle in a few weeks. So many people have fallen victim to this ridicules point of view. I have to admit that, when I started out, I also believed this, and was mightily surprised when it turned out that I was wrong. Patience and consistency, this is probably the most important parts of the muscle building pentagon. You need to be patient because it won’t happen overnight, and you need to be consistent and keep at it day in and day out, until you eventually reach your goals. It also helps if you love exercising.
Don’t worry about technique, just lift as heavy as you can. What a load of bull! No wonder so many people have to quickly give up their dream of having a muscular body because of injuries, with crap advise like that going around. Bad form does absolutely nothing but injure your muscle and joints. Rather use a lighter weight and make sure you perform the exercise correctly. Slow down your repetition rate considerably. This will still have you burn out between 8 and 12 reps, and will stimulate the muscle even more than the heavy weights, because you don’t have to cheat by using as much momentum as before. At least you joints will love you for it.
I made the title 5 little known ways, because even though most people tend to know this, they overlook these powerful muscle building factors purposefully. What their purpose may be I have no idea.
Don’t hesitate to implement the muscle building pentagon into your exercise, you will see results.
