Welcome to the SA Muscle Blog, and thank you for allowing me the opportunity of helping you on your way to building muscle, losing weight and becoming a better you. My name is Michael Bekker and I have created this blog in the hopes to share my experiences with the confusing world that is building muscle, and losing weight.
So many people are seeking the answers, but very few people actually realize what it takes to lose weight, and build rock solid muscle. Join me as I journey deeper into the world of bodybuilding and bring you the best possible solutions.
From contemplating steroid use to natural bodybuilding bliss
I have to confess, that I seriously considered using steroids during the early days of my muscle building days. Day in and day out training hard, eating everything I could lay my eyes on. Training 6 days a week. The gains were marginal at best, and my morale hit an all time low. It was at this stage that I had to decide if I was a quitter or a roidhead.
I enjoyed lifting weights, but who would lift weights if they never gained an ounce of muscle? Needless to say, I postponed my decision for 10 weeks, and set out again. I focused on all the little things that I had thought trivial before, and focused on my diet. The results were amazing, and today I can proudly say that practice makes perfect. Quality is indeed better than quantity.
I will admit that had I used steroids I would have reached my goals a lot faster and even surpassed them, but I have reached a balance which I am comfortable with.

- Exercise technique and form
- Bodybuilding diets
- Proper Supplementation
What the Muscle Blogger will not focus on:
- Steroid use
- Any illegal substance (i.e Pro hormones, even though pro hormones are still legal in South Africa, it is illegal in many parts of the world.)
Building muscle involves patience, hard work and dedication, if you can master these three things, you’re well on your way to building the perfect body.
